There are 33 little ones in New Start – the Ripples International home for abandoned babies. Some were left on
hospital steps, some in ditches, and even one in a garbage can. They were taken to the Child Welfare Department
in Meru, Kenya – and then to Ripples, which is an adoption agency. They all need a family to love and care for them.

We spent 23 days on the road in Kenya with Johnstone Kirimi, our safari driver. First in Nairobi, then to Kitali,
Rondo in Kakamega Forest and Nambale. Then Nairobi again, then to Voi – and back to Nairobi and then to Nyeri – all
before we settled for a couple of weeks in Meru.

During our last week in Kenya, we spent a couple of R & R days on Lamu. We stayed at Peponi which means
Paradise, in Shela, next to the ocean and miles of sandy beach. It was so peaceful – just listening to the lapping
water and seeing the full moon glistening on the water.

The rehearsal dinner was in Southport, the wedding ceremony was at St. John Church in Darien and the
reception, dinner and dancing were at the New Canaan Country Club. All were beautiful places to be with
this beautiful couple and their families and friends.
